Black Family Homeschool Educators and Scholars

Setting Our Own Agenda

Participate in Our Teach-In

We Are Happy to Have Had Overwhelming Response to Our Call for Speakers.

We Are NO LONGER Accepting Videos At This Time for the

2020 Virtual Teach-In.

We Have Confirmed All the Speakers for the Teach-In.

However, We Hope You Will Consider Registering for the Teach-In!

We are looking for homeschool educators and homeschool researchers who can share their insights and perspectives to begin dialogue that will lead to sustainable advocacy on behalf of Black homeschooling families. We need to be talking with each other, understanding what our needs, interests and perspectives are in order to set our own agenda. For our inaugural teach-in on July 20-24, 2020, we want to have lively discussions followed by action items to address collective concerns within the Black homeschooling community. We are not a monolith. Therefore, it is necessary to dialogue with each other to learn the ways we are surviving, thriving and building community within our unique collectives.

If you are a Black homeschooling parent, a Black homeschool researcher, Black educational professional who is actively engaged with Black homeschooling families or a Black person who has been homeschooled, we want to hear from you! We would like for you to create a 10-20 minute video responding to one of the prompts below. If your video is selected, it will be used during our teach-in as a lead-in into a teach-in discussion around the topic you discuss. If you have questions, email us at We need to receive your submission by June 15, 2020. Those who participate this way gain free access to the teach-in and other benefits. Email us for more info.

Attend Our Teach-In

You may not want to create a video but may be interested in what people have to say. That is great! We want to see you at the teach-in as well.
